As i am typing this journal, I am watching the TV show Wife Swap. In case you have not seen this show before, it takes two wives from two different families and switches them, to see life from another perspective. then the wives get to impose rules upon the other family the way she would run her house and family. I don't watch this show obsessively, but i have seen it enough that i know the general gist of how things work out.

The show that I have finished watching is between an overly religious (almost fundamentalist) family from north carolina and a liberal rock n' roll family from texas. and i have seen some pretty amazing stuff from this one.

i won't go into the whole extent of the details of the families, but i have never seen a more hypocritical and judgmental group of people.

as some of you may or may not know, i am engaged to be married to my fiance Josh. i have been in a few bad relationships in my past, but God has intervened and brought me a very loving Godly man. and naturally, we have dicussed what we would do to (eventually) raise a family and whatnot. We both love God with all our hearts, but we also enjoy music (mainly metal), fine arts, and family democracy. We want our focus to be about the family.

but what i found so bizarre was that in the religious family on the show i just watched they tell each other they hate each other. that to me is the worst thing you can do to one another in a family. i was expecting that this family would be loving and trusting of each other, but it was the most icy harsh place i have ever seen.

I don't really know where i am going with this, but i am just simply shocked at how much people are close-minded. A quote that i heard and live by is if you are going to keep your mind closed, keep your mouth closed too.

thats all i gotta say for now. i just had to get it out there.

By the way, I have an art list I am currently working on, for the summer before i start school. So i will be working on these. If i post anything that isn't something on my list, give me a virtual slap or something.
